Sizing panels right is very important because quality and production turnaround times are on the line. Products with a wrap-around final panel need to be carefully planned.
Factors that determine interior and exterior panel sizes are:
- Number of panels
- Paper thickness
- Fold sequence
WHY?
Paper has three-dimensions: height, width and thickness. Over & over folded
products (a.k.a. roll or barrel) accumulate bulk with every successive fold. Unless
your panels are sized to decrease in width (from the outside panel in), you will likely experience one or more of the following problems:
- Folds that won't line up with color breaks
- Unsightly bend overs
- Slower turnaround times.
