Tag stringing helps draw consumer attention to your product at the point-of-sale. Common applications for tag stringing include stitched, glued and folded piggyback advertising pieces that hang from products with a neck, such as salad dressings, olive oil and beverages. Many finishing and design options are available to create a string-tied product that will stand out. Let's go over a few of them.
Design Options
Tag stringing can be combined with various other finishing techniques according to your project's specific needs.
Folding - Deliver lots of content in a small package by combining gate and miniature folding with tag stringing.
Stitching - Get your product noticed by tag stringing a small-format stitched book to it.
NOTE: The stitch must be placed at least 3/4" down from the top. If the punch hits a stitch, it will ruin the punch, resulting in costly delays.
So Many Shapes!
The shape of your tag-stringed piece is limited only by your imagination. String-tied pieces can be cut into unusual shapes, such as hexagons, ovals and diamonds, or recognizable items such as flowers, snowflakes, or liquor bottles.
Tag Stringing Project Spotlight: A Design Change in Time
Saves Nine
Recently, Rickard Bindery produced a job involving a three-panel folded piece, die cut into a flower shape and string-tied through one of the petals. Upon receiving the customer's artwork, we realized the petals would almost certainly be bent during the folding process in a way that would end up compromising the product's appearance. We worked with the customer, helping them shift each petal's placement to avoid this issue. Re-aligning the artwork also allowed us to fold this piece on standard equipment, which resulted in substantial cost savings for the printer.
NEW - Expanded Tag Stringing Capabilities
We recently added a third tag stringing machine to help better meet our customer's needs in this area. Click here to read the press release.
