MARCH 28, 2001:
Chicago Company Recognized For Excellence In Two Folding Categories
Chicago, IL – Rickard Bindery
won two awards at the annual BIA (Binding Industries Association
International) “Product of Excellence” competition. The company
won “Best of Category” in Special, Unusual or Difficult Folding for
automatically folding a die cut iron-cross piece with extra foldout panels
and a refold. Rickard Bindery also won an “Award of Merit” in
Miniature Folding for folding a flat from 1-1/4”x10-1/2” to
5/8”x1-1/4”.
“When our customer approached
us for 50,000 pieces of this iron cross project, they told us that they
didn’t think it could be done,’ ” said Kevin Rickard, Vice
President, Operations. “Our people love these types of challenges
because there usually is a solution. It’s just a matter of
thinking and working hard enough.”
