Welded Seam Envelopes
The welded seam envelope is a cost effective self-mailer solution. This design allows the end user to fill out a form, detach it and insert it before mailing the piece back. At Rickard Bindery, this product is produced inline, in one pass.

Typically, we feed the sheet width-wise into the folder, adding perfs, scores, and remoist glue. Then we right angle fold and lay down two strips of permanent glue onto the envelope panel at the head and foot of the piece, before folding to create the envelope's pocket. One or two panel bangtail portions of a welded seam envelope are easily added into the folding sequence.
